Unusual for its elegance, the XT-Series is also unusual for its construction. Owing far more to aerospace engineering than to traditional wooden cabinet making, the XT-Series enclosures are constructed from an immensely rigid extruded aluminium shell - satin polished, to wear its metal heart on its sleeve. The enclosure’s rigidity comes partly from the inherent strength of its material and partly from its elliptically curved profile. The same curve that also helps to minimise both panel and internal resonance. The XT Series’ elegance extends right down to the smallest detail of design and engineering.
Matching the XT Series’ high technology enclosure is a driver line-up inspired by our finest speakers. Nautilus™ tube loaded aluminium dome tweeters, mounted on the top of the enclosure in the case of the XT2 and XT4, are combined with both Kevlar® and paper/Kevlar® cone midrange and bass drivers. The inert foundation provided the aluminium enclosure construction helps the drivers to operate in a near perfect vibration free environment and realise their full potential.
The XT Series comprises three speakers. The tall, floor-standing, three-way XT4, the compact, stand or wall mount, two-way XT2, and the wall or furniture mount XTC two-way centre channel speaker. The XT4 and XT2 and equally at home in either stereo audio or multi-channel AV systems. Their compact footprint eases installation and lessens visual impact. XT Series based AV systems, incorporating the XTC, can also be enhanced by the exceptional, aluminium enclosure PV1 active sub-woofer. In any system however the XT Series is brilliantly musical, detailed and communicative. The secret of successful speaker design is to find a solution that resolves the often-conflicting demands of acoustics, engineering, manufacture and aesthetics.
