Of all the components of a home cinema system, speakers are probably the least well accepted as desirable pieces of furniture to have in the home, closely followed by television sets. Both have traditionally been large and imposing if the highest level of performance has been demanded.
Plasma and LCD screens are transforming the vision side of things and now B&W's Flat Panel Monitor (FPM) Series does the same for the audio side, offering compatible design and outstanding sound quality. No deeper than the slimmest of plasma screens, each model has three frame and grille options to match the vast majority of screens and comes complete with a simple wall bracket. Floor and table stands are available as optional accessories for most models. Should the speakers need to be mounted high on the wall, provision is made for an OmniMount® or other compatible bracket to enable downward tilt.
To ensure superb performance, the models feature a wealth of B&W technologies. Despite their compact dimensions, they are all capable of striking performance in both cinema and music systems and can be further enhanced with a B&W subwoofer. You’ll want for nothing more in a home theatre system.
The FPM2 is primarily intended to complement the other FPM models as a compact surround speaker, but is equally at home with 2-channel audio in small rooms.
The FPM4 uses the same driver complement as the FPM5 in a smaller enclosure, designed to match 42-inch plasma screens. The comprehensive finish and mounting options common to the Series provide great flexibility in designing the installation.
The FPM5, its height designed to match 50-inch screens, uses twin 100mm (4 in) drivers. A centrally mounted Nautilus™ tweeter completes the line-up. A choice of three different finishes allows matching to the vast majority of plasma screens.
The FPM6 matches the height of 60-inch plasma screens and comes complete with a simple wall-mounting bracket. It features two 130mm (5 in) drivers in a 2½-way configuration with a centrally mounted Nautilus™ tweeter.
