With a total of 1000 watts of power, the MC205 delivers all the explosive dynamics that high-performance home theater systems require. What’s more, by incorporating McIntosh’s Dynamic Power Management (DPM) circuit topology, the MC205 delivers full power into a wide variety of loudspeaker types.
Unlike other high-current designs, The MC205 delivers the same 200 watts per channel into both 4-ohm and 8-ohm loudspeakers. The Dynamic Power Manager automatically controls and optimizes the power supply’s voltage and current balance delivering higher voltage that 8 ohm speakers require, and automatically adjusting for current-hungry 4 ohm speakers.
Versatility reigns with the MC205. Aside from a 5 channel home theater amplifier the MC205 can also be used as a two zone amplifier with three channels in one zone and the remaining two channels assigned to a second zone.
FIVE or THREE + 2-CHANNEL:
The MC205 may be used as a three channel amp to combine with other McIntosh stereo or mono block amps in a home theater while the remaining two channels are assigned to the B zone remote stereo area.
