The power amplifier SP 331 is receiving the input signal via two 6N16 tubes per channel whilst power is provided by 12 transistors from TOSHIBA in each channel. The smallest in the family of power amplifiers by Vincent. Yet already its weight will tell you it's a genuine Vincent. Over 5 kg at the size of just about 88 x 234 x 220 mm give evidence of substantial performance and a power supply which is definitely able to provide this performance via the power stage transistors. This amp with its 125 W into 8 Ohm may be employed wherever there is only limited space available, or where multiple channels are needed without having to sacrifice good sound. The sound of this amplifier cannot be described. You'll have to hear it yourself.

The goal here was to implement the high sonic standard of the SP 991 mono amps in one case. Hence 24 Sanken power transistors per channel deliver about 400 W into 4 Ohm, respectively 50 W into 8 Ohm in pure Class-A operation. Switching from Class-A to AB mode is automatically carried out by the amplifier if there is a need to do so. In order to further enhance the pure sound of this amplifier its energy supply has been divided to make the power stage work as a voltage source as well as a current source.

The SP 991 is a power amplifier in monophonic design. This was necessary because of the already tremendous weight of 30 kg for each mono-block. The circuitry's layout is balanced. Each mono-block can be driven via either balanced XLR connectors or unbalanced RCA jacks. The heart of each block consists of a toroidal core transformer of 1,500 W, 120,000 µF energy storage capacity and 24 power transistors from TOSHIBA.

The R275HC is a 2-channel high-current power amplifier capable of driving low-impedance loads. It can be used for power upgrades in specific zones, for large speaker selector or volume control systems and for long series-parallel speaker runs (e.g., large outdoor zones). This amplifier has a selectable low-cut filter designed to protect autoformer-based volume controls and speaker selectors. It also includes an autosensing input that activates the amplifier upon detecting an audio signal. The amplifier returns to standby mode when the audio signal ceases. The R275HC is rated at 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 100 watts per channel into 4 ohms. In bridged mono mode the R275HC is rated at 200 watts of power into a single 8-ohm load. All this power is supplied by a high-output toroidal transformer. Each amplifier output channel incorporates robust protection circuitry for safety and reliability under extreme circumstances.
The R235LS 2-channel amplifier has a space-saving low profile design with automatic local source switching capability. The R235LS allows a local source (e.g., PC or TV in the bedroom) to automatically override the speakers in that particular zone of a distributed audio system. This can be accomplished with its autosensing line input or with its trigger input for versatility in many different applications. The R235LS is rated at 35 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 50 watts per channel into 4 ohms. In bridged mode the R235LS is rated at 100 watts of power into a single 8-ohm load. Each amplifier output channel incorporates robust protection circuitry for safety and reliability under extreme circumstances.
De QUAD 909 maakt gebruik van QUAD’s gepatenteerde Current Dumping technologie en levert 2x 140 Watt aan 8 Ohm of 2x 200 Watt aan 4 Ohm. Kern van die technologie is een zeer hoogwaardige kleine klasse-A versterker die de gedragingen controleert van een zware klasse-B versterker, waarmee allerlei instellingen halverwege de produktie (en in het latere leven van de versterker!) simpelweg komen te vervallen. Denk maar aan de hersenen die onze spiermassa besturen. Zonder hersenen zou onze spiermassa een dommekracht zijn, klasse B zogezegd. Het resultaat aan de luidsprekeruitgangen is een kwaliteit en nauwgezetheid die alleen en volledig afhangt van de kleine klasse-A versterker, die in de 909 zo ontworpen is dat hij voldoet aan de meest stringente eisen.
Crossover-vervorming, ruststroom-instelling, extreme thermische gevoeligheid en de noodzaak om halfgeleiders aan elkaar te paren: alle behoren dankzij Current Dumping tot het verleden. De 909 mag met recht een van de mooiste versterkers van dit moment heten.
De QUAD 909 is ook leverbaar in MONO uitvoering en levert dan 250 Watt aan 8 Ohm.
