The MC58 is a high current 8-channel amplifier that can be configured as a reliable multi-zone power source for a whole house installation, as a primary home theater amp, or as a supporting home theater amp.

When used as a whole-house power source, the MC58 can produce 8 x 30 watts of ultra-clean power into 8 ohms and up to 8 x 50 watts into 4 ohms - a sign of its superb power supply. The MC207 is designed for use in a 7.1 home theater or in a 5.1 home theater with the remaining 2 channels available for a second stereo zone.

The MC207 is the first amplifier to employ the newly developed DYNAMIC POWER MANAGERTM (DPMTM) circuit design. This unique McIntosh circuit allows the MC207 to deliver a full 200 watts x 7 channels into either 4 or 8-ohm loudspeakers. On the rear panel of the MC207 is an impedance selector for 4 or 8-ohms. If the 8-ohm position is chosen and the speakers are 4-ohms, the MC207 will automatically switch over to the 4-ohm position if the amplifier is driven hard. This switch adjusts both the output transistor rail voltages as well as bias level to maintain ultra low distortion. DPMTM allows the MC207 to be optimized for whatever speakers are used.

The chassis is mirror polished Stainless Steel as used on the MC402 and other McIntosh amplifiers. The power transformer and filter capacitors are housed in traditional McIntosh drawn aluminum cans with a durable powder coat finish. The 5 heat sinks are fully exposed for maximum ventilation.

The MC207 has the traditional McIntosh 9" tall glass faceplate with three wattmeters for front channel power indication. The meters and front panel are illuminated with Fiber Optic Light Diffusers and Light Emitting Diodes (LED) for a beautiful, lifetime appearance. The meter illumination may be switched off using the front panel control.

Our amplifiers have a lush sound that presents a powerful and detailed soundstage. Their legendary Unity Coupled Output Transformer uses two bifilar wound primaries - one for the plates, as is normal, and a second for the cathodes. Instead of drawing all the output power from the plates, as many other designs do, the Unity Coupled design draws from both the plates and the cathodes. This greatly reduces the output distortion - always a problem in tube designs. By mixing the secondary windings in amongst the primaries, coupling is improved -flattening the output frequency response and improving the power bandwidth.

The MC275 Vacuum Tube Amplifier was designed and engineered by McIntosh co-founder Sidney Corderman and the McIntosh Engineering Team. The MC275 uses balanced or single ended inputs and a compliment of (3) 12AX7A, (4) 12AT7 and either (4) KT-88s or 6550 tubes. Configured for 75 watt per channel stereo, the MC275 can power 4, 8, or 16-ohm loads. As a bridged mono amp it delivers 150 watts into 2, 4, or 8-ohm loads. When McIntosh created the MC2000 tube amplifier to commemorate their 50th Anniversary, even they were surprised by the firestorm of critical acclaim and demand which it engendered. Now they have designed another amplifier for what has become their 2000 Series of Limited Edition Components.

The MC2102 Vacuum Tube Amplifier shares key characteristics with the MC2000, including the fact that they were both designed and engineered by McIntosh co-founder Sidney Corderman. Rated at 100 watts x 2 or 200 watts x 1, the MC2102 uses eight tubes in each channel. Balanced Input and inversion is handled by a pair of 12AX7's. Twin 12AT7's provide voltage amplification and driver functions, feeding two pair of either KT-88s or 6550's. Configured for stereo, the MC2102 can power 2, 4, or 8-ohm loads. In parallel mono configuration it pushes 1,2,or 4-ohm loads and as a bridged mono device it drives 4, 8, or 16-ohm loads.

Mac amps have their own way of doing things, and the sound they create presents a powerful argument in favor of their approach.
